The Sweetest Commercial. Ever.

I realize this is a Publix commercial and not the best quality, but every Valentine's Day I'm reminded of this sweet commercial. It use to play on local tv stations when we lived in Tennessee every year about this time and I have never forgotten it. This was obviously even before I became a mom and it still got me everytime. So thanks to technology and YouTube, I was able to find it and post it here to share with you all. Enjoy!

Valentine's Day Cards

This Valentine's Day card project has been quite sometime in the making! After coming up with the idea, I then turned to some EXTREMELY talented ladies for help! I have the photography part down, but not so much in the card designing and craft making department.

For the actual making of the large conversation hearts, I turned to Tonya Diehl of Love of Family and Home and Calli of Casala Studio for my card design. I'm telling you, these girls couldn't be any more talented and I couldn't have pulled off this little project without them. Tonya is our local "Martha Stewart" and Calli is one of my go-to-girls for fabulous card designs. Her card designs were some of my most popular this past holiday season!

Jack and I had a couple different photo shoots, but the card design below was our finished product! I also included some of my favorite individual shots from both shoots below.  It was a fun project that we were fortunately able to share with our many friends and family across the country (and world..... Tante Finja & my cousin Stephanie). Enjoy!

The Best of the Best: Super Bowl Commercials

Let's face it. I haven't watched an NFL football game all year and I didn't start yesterday either. I'm not a big fan of Madonna, so that left me with the commercials, which in my opinion, is the best part anyway. So here are a few of my faves.....

Rounding out the #1 spot is Clint Eastwood's narration of Chrysler's "Halftime in America". First of all....no one does it like Clint. And second, nothing like a real American story of the struggles we share to tug at the heartstrings. Very classy.

I also have to give much love to Volkswagen. As a former VW owner, I speak from the heart. I think I love their marketing almost as much as I love their cars! Great job, once again!

And even though Edward Cullen drove a Volvo, not an Audi, I still liked this one. I know my fellow Twilight fans also will appreciate it!

I Love M&Ms and we've been known to listen to a little LMFAO in this house (at least Jack and me), so this was a perfect match.  Although, Ms.Brown isn't exactly a "new character", I remember when brown was just a regular color in the M&M pack. It did make me wanna dance...and eat some M&Ms.

My Son, the Aspiring Photographer

I'm always curious how Jack spends his days. We always have the typical conversations in the car after I pick him up, which usually go something like....

"So what did you do today, buddy?"
"I played."
"That's it?"
"Yep."

What can I say, he just loves discussing the details of his day! It's typical. I know. But I never get to see the world through his eyes, until now.

Three days a week he goes to an elderly lady's house, who also keeps one other little boy, and the other two days he is with his Bumpa and Nina (aka Bronson's dad and Suzanne).

But one day last week, while at Bumpa and Nina's house, Jack decided he wanted to take some pictures of his own. It always makes me laugh how children love to imitate everything they see others do and let's face it...he's around A LOT of picture taking!

So he wandered around the house snapping pictures and here are just a few from the day. I think it's pretty interesting what he chose to photograph (although I did notice a bit of a "train" theme...... surprise). This just may be the future of Katie Parrish Photography folks......
