Isabella

On Wednesday I traveled to Evansville to meet the newest addition to the family, Baby Isabella. Baby Bella, Lyndsey, and Matt actually live in Modoc, Indiana (5-6 hours away) so we don't get to see them as often as we would like. So I jumped at the opportunity to get to take some pictures for them. Here are some of my favs....

The Oakley Family

My second shoot of the weekend was a newborn shoot for our dear neighbors, Micah and Alisha Oakley. They welcomed their second child, Landon, several weeks ago and I had the honors of taking the pictures! Here are a few shots I got of them, including their adorable daughter, Halle.

And by the way, I DID NOT retouch Alisha in the photo of her holding Landon!! Honestly I have never seen such a beautiful shot straight out of the camera! Alisha is one gorgeous mama!!

The Diehl Family

This weekend was a little hectic with two shoots and a trip to St. Louis on Sunday, so I apologize again for being delinquent with my posts!!!

Saturday day morning I met the Diehl Family for some family pictures. I CANNOT say enough good things about this family! Both Bobby and Tonya have touched my heart with their overwhelming support for Katie Parrish Photography and their thoughtful compliments! I can't thank them enough!!! They were so sweet and patient and their little boys couldn't get any cuter!! If you want to check out Tonya's adorable blog, I have added her link to my sidebar.

Diehl Family, I hope you know how much I enjoyed working with you and I hope I will have the pleasure of taking pictures for you again! You are as good as gold!!

Tuesday Ten

1. On November 5, we welcomed a new addition to the family, Isabella Marie Netherly(Bronson's cousin's baby). We can't wait to meet her next week!!

2. It hard to believe it's almost the Christmas season. Well I guess according to retailers, it already is! But there are LOTS of things I love about this time of year. I could probably do an entire "ten" on that. But my favorite movie of the season is "White Christmas". There is just something about Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye gliding across the stage that gets me in the spirit every time!

3. Another great thing about the holidays are the commercials. Here is one of my favs! It brings tears to my eyes every time......

4. I have already ordered and addressed my Christmas cards. Yes....you heard me right! (If you haven't noticed, I couldn't be any further from a procrastinator!) But this year, as well as last year, I ordered my cards from Minted. They have the "Freshest designs on paper." In fact that is their slogan and couldn't be more true. They also have introduced personalized calendars this year as well! I'm absolutely in love with our card design this year! I'm soooo excited to mail those babies out......would it be weird if I framed mine?!

5. My Aunt Susan is here visiting us from Maryland and helping to take care of my grandma. And for a quick update, she is doing MUCH better. Physical therapy is going well and we're hoping she gets her cast off this week! We're also hoping she'll be back in her apartment before Christmas.....fingers crossed!

6. And speaking of my aunt being here, we went out from dinner and movie last night and saw Unstoppable! If you get out to see a movie, you HAVE to see this one. It's actually a true story, which in my opinion makes it even better. But as a warning you will be stressed to the max by the end of the show! Without a doubt, an edge of your set nail biter!!

7. The Pizza cutter is still MIA!!!!!

8. Jack has just decided in the last week that he wants to use his potty! I am still counting on a little digression, but we are definitely moving in the right direction!!

9. Business is booming at Katie Parrish Photography! I have been humbled by the overwhelming support and interest in my work! So for Christmas I have decided to offer gift cards. I'm putting a post on my facebook page, but feel free to contact me if you're interested or if someone you know is interested. Pictures make the perfect gift for families and children!!!

10. But yesterday I told Bronson what I REALLY wanted. I want a room (about the size of a large bedroom) with a HUGE......no GIGANTIC north facing window. I also want various background papers and some great chairs and couches for picture taking! Now you can imagine the look he gave me! But not before he interrupted my explaination about the window to remind me that he was an architect (just in case I forgot) and that he understood all about lighting and north facing windows! Well, at least he understands why I want it, however that unfortunately doesn't get me any closer to actually getting it! I obviously don't have the income from my photography to justify this.........but can't a girl wish??!!

The Rose Family

One of the other perks about being an on-location, family/child photographer is that I honestly have been fortunate enough to take pictures of the most beautiful families I've ever met. Seriously....don't I get the cutest clients?! The Rose Family is obviously no exception to that!

So the morning turned out to be pretty crappy weather for shooting outside. So we assessed the situation yesterday morning and decided to do most of the pictures inside. I warned Mandy that that might involve some rearranging of the furniture, but fortunately she was all about it, so we continued with our plans.

Whenever I make my strange requests during a shoot, I usually prepare myself for bizarre looks from parents or people thinking I'm crazy in general, but I have to say, The Rose Family was game for anything. At one point I think I was running through their house chasing Parker and tossing toys and pillows around like I was at home! And when I requested we move a large chair, couch and area rug, Jeff didn't hesitate. I thought about asking him to stand on his head too just to gauge his reaction....but I knew my luck had to run out at some point!! :)

Thank you Rose Family for obliging me yesterday! I know your house looked like a Disaster (notice that's with a capital "D") when I left! But I think it was all worth it.....

The Webb Family

One of the perks of being a part-time photographer is that I get to meet LOTS of wonderful families and The Webb Family is a perfect example of that! I'm actually starting to realize what a small world it is! When I met The Webbs today, it turns out Kelly and I actually have several mutual friends and she even remembers me from my high school part-time job working at a pharmacy in her hometown!!!

It was truly a pleasure, Webb Family! I had a great time today and thanks to all the friendly Makandanites for allowing us to use their cute little town as a backdrop! It was honestly "picture perfect"! :)

The Brooks Family (Part 2)

Today I had the opportunity to take more pictures for The Brooks Family! This time it was Heath, Lindsey, and Joseph. It was such a pleasure meeting them and getting to take some pictures for their family! However they did warn me that Joseph woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. (But as you can see, we still managed to get some pretty cute pictures!)

Well, unfortunately that has all been explained. I just found out they took him to Urgent Care with a 103 temp!! Yikes!!!

Well, all I have to say is, little Joseph is a trooper and I hope he feels better very soon! In the mean time, I hope these cheer you up, Brooks Family!
