Februray Recap

I have no great excuse for not blogging in weeks except my life has been crazy and I haven't had Internet at our new house (because Brons and I wired the house and our phones didn't work!) It was just a minor hiccup, but a crisis was averted :)

So we aren't even two months into the new year and yet so much has happened. A week before I left for Arizona, I didn't even know if I was going to have a job. Now isn't really the best time to be in pharmaceuticals sales...as if there really is a good time. Don't get me wrong, it's a great job, but not the line of work for someone needing job security. So I just go with it. One of our biggest products is going generic and my company decided to lay off half of the sales force. That right, HALF! That means approximately 600 people got the boot. Many of those people depending on their job and benefits to support their families. But again, any one who takes a job in the industry knows the hazards.

So now I'm promoting a new product, which I love, and we are awaiting the FDA's approval of another drug I will also be promoting. I won't bore you with anymore work details, but to make a long story short, things are looking up work wise.

I also thought I would interject a few pics I have taken over the last month in order to keep your interest. Jack is almost 8 months. I absolutely love this first picture. It shows all his cute little rolls :)

This was Bronson's idea of keeping Jack in one place. We were both working in his office and Jack was into everything. So Brons took the ear buds from my ipod and tied Jack to the leg of the table. He just couldn't understand why he wasn't going anywhere. It was super cute!

So my trip to Arizona was nice, but almost cruel. My company always sends us to great locations, but keeps us locked up in a hotel the entire time. We could have our meetings in Marion, Illinois and get the same thing accomplished, but it's a nice idea, I guess.

This is a picture from the back of the resort where there were wild bunnies. They were so cute.

This is a picture of my new district with my manager and Regional Director.

A picture from the balcony in my room. I just wish I could have enjoyed it more!

We had really great food the entire week, and open bar every night (which I had a glass or two of wine), and Smashmouth played for us the last night we were there.

I, of course, left my getting bumped from my flight home drama out, my other b'day details, Valentine's Day, and other personal issues out, but I didn't want to post the longest blog entry in history....so for every one's sake, I'm stopping there!! But there is still a week left in the month, so I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that no other major events happen in the near future. I could enjoy "life as normal" for awhile :)

Goodbye Illinois.....Hello Sunny Arizona

Just wanted to say goodbye...temporarily. I'm leaving Sunday morning for a business meeting all next week at the JW Marriott in Scottsdale, AZ. I'm not trying to rub things in, but I am looking forward to the 80 degree, sunny weather expected all next week. Hopefully when I return, things will be a little more normal and I can get back to posting as usual.

And for all those wondering about Jack's care next week, my mom, Bronson's mom, and Suzanne will be sharing in the duties. The thought of Jack and Bronson alone in the house for one week is a little scary! (Just kiddin' babe. I'm sure the house would be fully intact, the dishes cleaned, laundry done, and my son would be in one piece when I returned :)

Another First!

Jack is growing so quickly and has been doing a lot of new things lately. The latest was on Friday. He, for the first time, rode in a shopping cart. I think the people at Target thought I was crazy for snapping pictures of Jack sitting in the cart, but it was so cute. I just couldn't let this great picture oportunity go!

Happy Birthday to Me

My birthday was yesterday, but we celebrated a little early. Brons surprised me with a furniture shopping trip to Nashville over the weekend. I picked out a great leather set for our living room that I have been eying for quite awhile. Oh, how I miss N'ville shopping!!

Saturday night we met some friends of ours that still live in Nashville. We had dinner at The Macaroni Grill and then went back to their house to meet the newest addition to their family. They recently had another little baby boy named Austin. It was really great to see Amber and Jason again. We miss them terribly!!

Move In Day

I'm sorry it has been so long since I have posted, but things have been really crazy around the Parrish household. We finally moved the weekend after MLK Day and we don't have Internet yet, so it has really put a crimp in my blogging! Hopefully normalcy will be restored soon and I can get back to life as usual. But until then, my posts will probably be sporadic.

Also, my house is still such a MESS, I'm embarrased to post any pics yet. But when things get a little better I promise I will post lots of pics.
